into the peace of wild things

On this day of blessing animals, acknowledging growing despair at the violence and injustice so rampant in our world, Pr Kari Lipke invites us to consider going into the peace of wild things, as names the poet Wendell Berry in this work. We consider the peace Jesus called us to live in, and the ways we may be instruments of peace. And, we are reminded of the peace imparted to us by stepping back into nature's beauty or burying our troubled faces for a time in the fur of beloved animal companions. If despair in the world stirs in you, a listen to these words may help you find a place or companion to which you might turn for peace.
