faithful struggles: what healing do we seek?

On this Sunday nearest the commemoration of Luke, the Physician, we consider our needs for healing. In the forum we learned about faith community nursing with Ralph Fateiger. In the bite size, we thought about the way community offers support. And in this reflection, Pr Joanne invites us to think about how we come before God and name our desires. Sometimes we rail against God, like Job; sometimes we hang out (like the person in John's gospel): on the edges, sick and alone even in the midst of great crowds.

Pr Joanne urges us to name our needs -- and the needs of others; to speak up and speak out. In our service, we did that. Coming forward and staying still, naming our own needs and those weighing heavy on our hearts. Together, we wish to be healed.
